Coraline in Theaters Today

Neil Gaiman's Coraline debuts in theaters today.

Have you seen it yet? If not, do you plan to see it?

In the era of Netflix, I find myself going to the theater much less frequently. I didn't see a single film in theaters last year, in fact. I may have to break that streak with Coraline.

The trailer (below) looks fantastic. I loved the book, which was my first experience with Gaiman's work.

Do you have a favorite book-to-movie adaptation?

  1. I haven't been going to the movies much of late either...but I do hope to see this one in theaters. I think that it will be delightfully creepy if its done right.

  2. I go to the theater a ton during the summer b/c we don't run the air conditioning! :)

I might go see this, haven't decided.

  3. Hi Ruth,

Just wanted to thank you so much for your kind words, they are much apprciated!

Can't wait to see Coraline, but will probably see it when it comes out on DVD. I hardly ever get to the movies these days.

My favorite book to movie adaptation is 84 Charing Cross Road. The film is a faithful representation of the book and both are wonderful.

  4. I have never read any of Gaiman's work (it's on my to-do list!) but I love Coraline's trailer, and I would love to see it! But we don't go much to the theater anymore, so maybe I will have to wait for the DVD?

  5. yes, I saw the trailer before and it looks very good and then I just read a very good review of it in the Philadelphia Inquirer so I am thinking I should see it.

  6. I too go to the theater less and less, but if you have a chance to see this on the big screen, it is delightful and well worth it.
